I'm in love (yes, yet again! haha!) This home featured in the January 2012 issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles embodies vacation home chic from the rustic charcoal gray siding on the exterior to the perfectly stylish interiors. It is what happens when you combine the stunning architectural designs of D. Stanley Dixon with the designer accumen of Nancy Warren. The result is the perfect marriage of architecture and design united in this romantic, yet refined, rustic, country home situated in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain town of Cashiers, North Carolina.
Love, love, love the creamy horizontal panels in the entry along with the stone floor in the entry and mudroom. Throughout the space muted tones are emphasized that are so peaceful and relaxing -- like a vacation home should be!
This kitchen is perfection squared! From the beautiful lanterns hanging over that wonderful table, to the steel and glass doors leading out to an amazing screened in porch, to the white cabinetry, to the dark (soapstone?) counters, to those wonderfully dark floors. This is just stunning!
If you know me, you know that I am crazy about pantries - especially big walk-in pantries with windows and beadboard paneling like this one. Reminds me of my Nanas kitchen. Besides that, I love simple curtains on lower cabinets -- such a pretty way to hide your storage!! And check out the dark colored trim paint. Maybe Cast Iron by Sherwin Williams? Or Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore?

More perfection here in this sunken reading room with walls sheathed in wood paneling creating an intimate, charming and cozy spot in the home.
I love this back entryway from the garage to the kitchen.
Those lanterns are so perfect with the rustic charm of this home.
Imagine relaxing here overlooking the stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and reading by that cozy fireplace!
That gorgeous gilded mirror is antique and juxtaposed against the rough wood paneling, the glamorous hammered nickel sink, and those rustic bronze light fixtures, showcases the overall charm of Warren's design. Through the carefully calibrated use of rustic, old farmhouse and glamour elements, Warren crafted a comfortable and yet sophisticated design that reflects the rural mileau of the home perfectly. Just like D. Stanley Warren's architectural design of the home. A perfect marriage!
The master bedroom is soft and serene in ivory, taupes, and charcoal guaranteed to produce the zzzzzz's.
Hope you enjoyed the house tour!
