Oh,,,the lazy days of summer are upon us.... leisurely sipping coffee on the back porch in the morning. Enjoying the feeling of reading a real newspaper that joyfully leaves newsprint on my fingertips. Receiving lovely letters and summer invitations from dear friends and family in your mailbox. Hanging sheets and beach towels out to dry in the warm breeze of a summer afternoon. Smelling the scent of lavender that wafts upon them later. The guilty pleasures of taking the kids out for mini-golf followed by homemade ice cream in fat waffle cones, and just a little scoop in a cup for me please! Hope your summer vacation is magical!

Sarah Richardson, the Toronto designer recently redid her family's summer cottage on a teeny-tiny island accessible only by boat or plane. See the stunning results below. I love her style. If you watched Sarah's Summer House on HGTV you saw the before's. I so admire Sarah's bravo for whitewashing her husband's knotty pine paneling. Hmmmm...that gives me an idea!
